Beihang University (BUAA)
Beihang University (BUAA), formerly called Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, was founded in 1952 and was the first university in aerospace technology in China. Since 1950s, BUAA has been one of the 16 state key universities of China and through more than 50 years development it has grown into a science and technology university with aerospace features, combining disciplines in science, engineering, liberal arts, law, economics, management and education. At present 24,000 students are enrolled in BUAA and among them around 11,000 are graduates. 900 foreign students are admitted to BUAA annually, among whom more than 300 are studying for master or doctoral degrees. BUAA also offers scholarship to the outstanding foreign students. English is used as courses and instruction language for all the master and doctoral programs, and some undergraduate programs. The campus of BUAA is located in the universities’ areas of Beijing and is notable for its advanced laboratories and teaching apparatus, beautiful environment, convenient transportation and complete and high quality service.
